If my pregnancy is or becomes complicated or high risk, what care can I expect?

Delivering around 15 babies per month (and over 2500 since opening his practice in the Illawarra), Dr Greening has extensive experience managing complicated and high risk pregnancies.

With years of training in some of Australia and the world’s leading medical institutions, including Monash Medical Centre, one of Victoria’s largest women’s health services, the prestigious Queen Charlotte’s High-Risk Obstetric Unit in London and the very busy Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, Dr Greening and his team have the expertise to manage the full spectrum of obstetric concerns and/or emergencies.

Can I play an active role in choosing how I labour and what pain relief I would like?

Dr Greening, along with the midwives at your chosen hospital work together as a team to create a positive birthing experience. Dr Greening is happy to discuss your birthing wishes with the decisions made always underpinned by the safety and wellbeing of both mother and baby. It’s important to note that while a birth plan can be extremely helpful, birth does not always go to plan and that is where an experienced Obstetrician can step in to ensure the best outcome.

When it comes to pain relief, there are numerous options available and Dr Greening is supportive of whatever choices you make. He has managed a number of Calm Births/Hypnobirths and is more than happy to discuss your preferences for this style of birth with you, prior to delivery.
